Rhythms of Nature brings together six works by Shane Guffogg and Mark Acetelli in dialogue with the natural atmosphere of The Westin Seoul Parnas. At the center of the presentation are four works from Guffogg’s Ribbon series, accompanied by two paintings by Acetelli. Together, the works explore movement, balance, and the subtle rhythms that connect the natural world with human perception and emotion.

In Guffogg’s Ribbon paintings, interwoven lines appear to fold, turn, and float through luminous fields of color. The forms seem almost weightless, yet their movement is carefully sustained, creating a continuous visual rhythm across the surface. They recall currents of air, flowing water, vines, or other organic structures without becoming literal representations of nature. Instead, nature is experienced through motion—through repetition, circulation, and the sensation of something constantly unfolding.

Acetelli’s works introduce a different but complementary energy. His layered surfaces and intuitive gestures carry a more immediate emotional presence, allowing color, texture, and movement to emerge through the act of painting itself. Where Guffogg’s ribbons suggest an almost continuous flow, Acetelli’s paintings bring moments of interruption, density, and spontaneity. The contrast gives the exhibition its rhythm: structure and instinct, delicacy and weight, calm and movement existing alongside one another.

Within the natural setting of The Westin Seoul Parnas, these works become part of a larger environment rather than isolated objects. Their lines, colors, and gestures respond to the surrounding light, materials, and sense of openness, creating a visual experience that feels both composed and alive. Rhythms of Nature reflects on beauty as something found not in stillness, but in movement—in the way forms meet, separate, and return, much like the rhythms that quietly shape the natural world.
